ChatMovePrivacy policy

This policy explains what personal data the ChatMove Chrome extension and website collect, why, and your rights. ChatMove is run by Fareed Dudhia, who is the data controller. Contact: hello@chatmove.co.uk.
What we collect

We don't collect your browsing history. The extension runs only on rightmove.co.uk, and only property pages contact our server. We don't use advertising trackers or analytics cookies, and we don't sell your data. Sponsored items are chosen by the listing's area and whether it's for sale or rent, never by anything about you.
How long we keep it
- Account and comments: until you delete them. You can delete a comment at any time, and your whole account from the extension's toolbar menu.
- Deleted or removed comments: hidden immediately. The text is kept for 90 days in case it's needed for a complaint or a legal claim, then erased.
- Account deletion: your email and Google ID are erased immediately, along with your comments and upvotes.
- Server logs: record requests (without IP addresses or account details) and are kept for up to 30 days.
- Backups: daily database backups are kept for 14 days.
- Complaints: kept for up to 6 years in case of legal claims.
Who we share it with
Comments and display names are public: anyone using ChatMove can see them. We use these service providers, who process data on our behalf:
- DigitalOcean: hosts our server and database in London, UK.
- Google: provides sign-in. Google tells us your account ID and email address; we don't get your password or other Google data.
- Cloudflare: provides our domain name service and forwards email sent to us.
We may disclose data if the law requires it, for example to respond to a court order.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to access, correct or delete your data, object to how we use it, or ask us to restrict it. Email hello@chatmove.co.uk. If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Children
ChatMove is for people aged 18 and over.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date above. For significant changes we'll also tell users in the extension.
